The spirit of giving is alive and well at Quondam Retirement Village, where residents have once again opened their hearts—and their cupboards—for a cause close to home.
For the ninth year running, Quondam has supported an outreach project benefiting residents in Wychwood who are living on SASSA grants and facing financial hardship. This winter, our community rallied together, collecting non-perishable groceries, warm blankets, scarves, and hats over several weeks. The response was nothing short of overwhelming.
Wychwood beneficiaries, most of them pensioners, expressed deep gratitude for the support. “Quondam has been a great blessing to us for more than nine years, if not longer,” one recipient shared. “We’re all trying to make ends meet, but the cost of gas and electricity leaves very little for essentials. These donations bring real relief, and hope.”
The outreach project is a reminder that even small acts of generosity can have a profound ripple effect. As one resident said, “We may be retired, but we still have so much to give.”
To all our residents who donated: thank you for making a difference. Your kindness warms more than just bodies—it lifts spirits, too.
